FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SASKATOON, SK – May 7, 2026
WinField United Canada announced today an expansion of its CROPLAN canola portfolio.
As Corteva expands its licensing agreement with WinField United, WinField United will assume select Brevant commodity canola hybrids and offer them under the CROPLAN brand, serving independent ag retail channels across Canada.
Three hybrids will be rebranded under the CROPLAN seed brand and available for the 2027 growing season.
CROPLAN is a seed brand backed by high-performing genetics, local expertise, and rigorous research. Each CROPLAN product is supported by extensive research and field testing through sites across Canada and the Answer Plot® testing network, ensuring strong performance across diverse farming conditions. This data-driven approach helps growers manage risk across diverse conditions while maximizing every acre.
“CROPLAN is an established seed brand, with a history spanning 30 years across North America. The brand has a trusted reputation, and its future is bright as it continues to expand,” states Dave Van Dam, General Manager of WinField United Canada. “These Brevant hybrids are well known on Canadian farms. Bringing them into the CROPLAN portfolio strengthens the brand’s trust, offers consistency for growers, and sharpens our focus on delivering proven genetics through one trusted brand. It also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to independent ag retailers across Canada.”
CROPLAN is looking forward to the future and the growth of its canola offerings, providing more choices for independent ag retailers. Growers will continue to access familiar, high-performing canola genetics from industry leading suppliers, now offered under the CROPLAN brand by their local, trusted independent retailer. These new hybrids build on CROPLAN’s strategy to deliver a broad seed lineup for various crops, regions, and management styles, supported by advanced seed treatments to help crops start strong and reach their full potential.
