Your fields demand grit, not luck. CROPLAN® canola is the seed that shows up ready to work. These canola hybrids are built a little different to help you slam the door on yield loss and give you the agronomic data you need to make solid decisions.
Over the past six years, CROPLAN has been steadily putting down roots in Canada – starting with two Roundup Ready® canola hybrids. Since then, the lineup has grown right along with it. For 2026, CROPLAN offers three LibertyLink® and three TruFlex® options that are available for 2026, including two new hybrids. So buckle up and let’s discuss why these new CROPLAN canola hybrids need a spot on your farm this spring.
What’s in a Name?
First a quick lesson on the CROPLAN naming system, because there’s a method to the madness. When you see a hybrid name like CP25L3C for instance, this is what it’s really telling you:CP = CROPLAN
25 = Year of launch – in this case, 2025
L = Herbicide tolerant trait, either LibertyLink (L) or TruFlex (T)
3 = Maturity rating. Hybrids with a 1 are early maturing, 3 = mid-maturity, and 5 = late
C = Dominant trait, either a C (clubroot) or a P (pod shatter). Note that just because it’s a C doesn’t mean the pod-shatter component isn’t up to snuff- this hybrid is built to proudly stand tall and hang tight on those windy days.

LibertyLink Hybrids
CROPLAN has two previous high-performing hybrids still available for 2026 – CP21L3C and CP24L3C. Both offer great vigour and excellent standability with strong blackleg and clubroot resistance. The new kid on the block for 2026 is CP25L3C. This hybrid swoops in with the highest CROPLAN LibertyLink hybrid pod shatter score, standing solid at 7.2 on the Canola Council of Canada shatter scale. This means it’s a great choice for straight-cutting or delayed swathing if that’s your harvest method of choice. If swathing is your style, one of the best ways to improve yield is to simply be patient and wait for more seed colour change to occur - CP25L3C gives you the confidence to let that happen.CP25L3C is no slouch when it comes to the disease protection that matters to you most. With blackleg resistance and next generation clubroot protection against the most prevalent pathotypes and more, you can be confident this hybrid will defend against these yield robbing diseases. It also shows great early season vigour, even under tough spring conditions, to help plants emerge evenly and move past sensitive growth phases quickly.
CP25L3C is a similar hybrid to CP24L3C, but one thing trial results found is that CP25L3C seemed to perform better on lighter land, while CP24L3C did best on heavier soils and in the black soil zone. This breakdown helps the best hybrid be selected for each field to maximize yield within the CROPLAN portfolio. CP24L3C and CP25L3C both boast next generation clubroot compared to first generation protection in CP21L3C.
CP25L3C and CP24L3C were both included in a plethora of farmer field trials and owner organized trials across Western Canada in 2025.

Martin Carr, Agronomy Manager for WinField® United Canada says “CP25L3C has good yield potential and is mid-maturity. These features make it a variety that is primed to deliver industry-leading yields and dominate the field”. Get your bags booked now!
TruFlex Hybrids
This acre may be shrinking, but it’s not gone yet! CROPLAN offers three TruFlex options that are ready to make an impact on your farm. Two seasoned hybrids, CP22T1C and CP21T3P remain for 2026. With solid performances over the last several years, CP22T1C is a great choice for those needing the early maturity and strong clubroot package, while CP21T3P boasts a pod shatter rating bordering the top end of the CCC scale at 7.8. New for 2026 is the hybrid that combines the benefits of both previous hybrids – CP25T2C.
CP25T2C is an exceptional straight cut option with outstanding yield potential. With a pod-shatter score of 7.3, it stands strong all season long and hangs onto the fabulous yield it grows. This means you get fewer shattered pods and more seeds in the hopper.
On the disease front, CP25T2C offers up both classic and newer clubroot resistance, including pathotypes 5X and 5I, to give you the upper hand when your field becomes a battleground. It’s no wimp when it comes to blackleg either, with strong blackleg resistance featuring a new resistance source. Visually it is an impressive plant – standing tall, and looking from the road like the strong yielder that you see once you get into the field.
This hybrid has the owner organized and farmer field trial data from 2025 to back it up. Going head-to-head against some of the industries toughest TruFlex hybrids, CP25T2C didn’t back down and brought home the win. A smattering of these results is found below.

CP25T2C is a dominant TruFlex option that has a fit where excellence is expected.
Don’t discount either of the other CROPLAN TruFlex offerings, however. Across the Prairies at retail and Answer Plot® sites in 2024 and 2025, CP22T1C finished 101.9% of trial average (n=20) and CP21T3P 103.6% of trial average (n=7). With CP21T3P having an ultra-strong pod-shatter score of 7.8, this is a great hybrid choice for the acre where clubroot is not a concern. Conversely, while being no pod shatter slouch itself at 7.4, CP22T1C brings a great disease package combined with early maturity. CROPLAN TruFlex has an offering for every acre.
Strategies to Win
CROPLAN’s philosophy? Don’t put all your acres in one maturity basket. CROPLAN has a range of maturities for a reason - stagger maturity so weather swings, harvest timing, or disease spikes can’t ambush your entire farm at once. This isn’t just agronomy—it’s risk management with a renegade edge. As Top Gro Agro located in Mallaig, Alberta puts it, “picking multiple CROPLAN hybrids cuts down your exposure to environmental curveballs and keeps harvest chaos under control.”
For the first time, CROPLAN canola seed is also available for 2026 with your choice of two great seed treatment offerings – Helix® Saltro® Fortenza® Advanced or Prosper® EverGol® BUTEO® start. This gives you more flexibility to pick the seed treatment that is better suited to the specific challenges you have on each field across your farm.
Battle-tested by the Answer Plot Network
This isn’t seed backed by guesswork. CROPLAN is supported by WinField United’s Answer Plot trials, one of the largest data-driven testing programs in North America. These hybrids get pushed, punished, and stress tested long before they ever hit your farm gate, ensuring you’re working with genetics tested under real life Prairie conditions that are proven to crank out ROI. This gives you the agronomic insights you need to help maximize the return on your seed investment.

Final Picks
At the end of the day, CROPLAN canola isn’t just another brand from a long list in the seed guide—it’s the choice for farmers who’d rather lead than follow, who’d rather push boundaries than settle for “good enough.” With a trialled and true Prairie lineup that doesn’t need a dozen options to meet the needs of your farm, CROPLAN canola specially adapted to your unique field conditions.
From LibertyLink to TruFlex, from industry tested pod shatter scores to resistance packages forged for real world disease pressure, and your choice of seed treatment, these hybrids don’t just show up—they show off. As you finalize your plans for the 2026 season, remember this: playing it safe never made history, but planting like a rebel just might.
